R.J. Stein is an Associate with Surmount (formerly NNN Pro). R.J. joined Surmount in 2020 and works on the Institutional Coverage Group. He currently focuses on underwriting real estate fundamentals, conducting property-level diligence, and coordinating disposition programs for some of the nation’s largest institutional real estate companies including, REITs, private equity funds, public and private franchisors, franchisees, developers and other high-net-worth and 1031 exchange individuals. Additionally, R.J. works with buy-side clients in identifying investment properties that match buyers’ investment profiles while providing advisory services.

Since joining Surmount, R.J. has contributed to over 125 transactions totaling approximately $400 million in transaction volume. Most notably, R.J. has assisted one of the premier operators in the automotive space with a high profile, multiyear sale-leaseback program which has included over 115 properties $300 million in market value.

Prior to working with Surmount, R.J. worked at HK Group, a full-service real estate firm specializing in off-market investment sales, advisory, and development. He graduated from Elon University’s Love School of Business, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and minors in Economics and Accounting.
