Russell Wachtler is a Senior Managing Director, Investments with Surmount (formerly NNN Pro). Russell joined Surmount in 2005 and currently specializes in advising both buy-side and sell-side clients. He has represented clients in both portfolio and individual asset sales ranging in size from $1 million to $100 million across the country. Russell has sold over 800 properties totaling over $2.5 billion in transaction volume over the course of his career.
Russell has represented institutions, REITs, private equity funds, public companies, private companies, franchisees, developers, as well as private investors. He has been successful in achieving his clients’ objectives in structuring sale-leaseback transactions in the restaurant, retail, c-store, industrial, and medical office arenas. Russell prides himself on being able to partner with both novice and savvy investors, and tailor strategies to their individual goals. He is an expert in the 1031 exchange process and has helped clients identify and close on properties in an expedited manner.
Prior to working with Surmount, Russell worked at Citi Habitats where he managed a commercial leasing team. He graduated from Lafayette College with a degree in Business and Economics. Russell lives in New Jersey with his wife and two children.
