Joe Durkin is a Vice President of Investments at SURMOUNT. Joe joined SURMOUNT in 2025, where he is currently focused on acquisitions and dispositions, 1031 Exchanges, and comprehensive portfolio analysis. He specializes in standalone big box retail assets, bringing a strategic and data-driven approach to every transaction.

He has leveraged his extensive knowledge of net lease assets and client-first mindset to drive value across a broad range of asset classes including retail, industrial and office. His career includes over $250 million in closed transactions in both single and multi-tenant deals as well as complex portfolio sales.

Prior to working with SURMOUNT, Joe worked with The Net Lease Group, an Atlanta based firm where he worked out of their Charleston office. He advised clients nationwide on net lease investment sales, exchanges, and capital markets consultation.

He holds a degree in both Economics and Finance from Bentley University in Waltham, MA.

Joe is based in New York City.
